He Is the Lord Who Hears the Prayers of the Saints

This week was the last round of chemotherapy. Starting next Monday some scans will be taken: MRI, CAT Scan, and PAT Scan. On October 26th I will go to St. Louis Barnes Jewish Hospital to see a doctor to decide surgery currently planned for mid-November. So, for the next month I’ll be resting at home, recovering from the damage from the side effects of chemotherapy, and more importantly: gaining weight, resting more, exercising more, keeping fit to prepare for the big surgery next month.

As I recall the whole chemotherapy process in the past four plus months, it has truly been the grace of the Lord that kept me.  Many people experienced their body getting weaker and suffered unbearable discomfort in later rounds of chemotherapy. However, God’s gracious hands protected me from many sufferings of side effects in the whole process. Every time the doctor asked me if I was in pain or discomfort, my answer has always been, “no”.  Thanks to the Lord, it seems my physical condition is even better in the later rounds of chemotherapy. Throughout the process there were sometimes emergencies but they were all quickly and safely resolved. Again and again I experienced the Lord’s love and mighty power over me.  I can only continue to praise and thank the Lord for what He has done in me!

Almost every week a lot of brothers and sisters would tell me, “The brothers and sisters of our church are praying for you every week!”  These churches are not only scattered in the Midwest, East, and West coasts of the United States, but even also overseas churches that I have never visited.  My heart was extremely touched every time I heard that they were praying for me.  It has been more than four months, yet brothers and sisters still have not forgotten to pray for me.  I am truly very grateful! I believe that the fervent prayers of brothers and sisters everywhere, though in different places, are like the incense in the golden censer to reach before the throne of God, and He hears them in heaven and accomplishes the requests on earth on this unworthy vessel. Thanks be to the Lord! He is the Lord who constantly hears and values the prayers of the saints. I also believe that, while surgery is what I am to face, we will all be witnessing God’s mighty power and glory in the prayers of the saints.
