2021-02-10-Pastor Ko’s Update

February 10, 2021

The following was voice recorded by Pastor Ko. Thanks to a sister who transcribed it.

On February 1st,  I went to the hospital to check the draining tube, which drained the bloody fluid from my body.  I thought maybe it is time to have this tube removed because recently the daily fluid collected was under 30c.c., but the doctor said that although the amount of discharge is much less than before, I still need to keep the tube for a while. Two days later before going back to the clinic for follow-up check, the doctor ordered an ultrasound to see if there was a blood clot on my foot. And they did  find that there were blood clots in the lower half of both legs, so he prescribed some medication. Thanks to the Lord, instead of giving myself shots every day like last time, which was not easy, I only need to take medication for it. The doctor also found that my breathing seems not as good as before and thought it was caused by pulmonary fluid in the lungs. So, he scheduled a procedure to take care of it—that is, to drain the fluid out from my back. Thanks to the Lord. In the operating room, the doctor showed me X-rays. I thought there was fluid in both sides, but the doctor said it appeared that only the left lung had fluid. Thank the Lord for healing the right lung lobe. With only local anesthetic the doctor opened a small hole to drain out the fluid, with a total of 1.5 liters (about half a gallon) of fluid. When I got home, I measured my weight and found that I had lost at least 4 and a half pounds and was breathing much better now.   Thanks to the Lord! Everything is of His healing work.

Although many things have happened, I thank the Lord for speaking to me through Psalm 27:13-14, “{I would have despaired} unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. Wait for the LORD; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.” Truly, after almost nine months of treatment with many surgeries, medications, the body also suffered a lot of pain. But thank the Lord, as the Scriptures say, the reason why I can be sustained for this long was because I can live to experience the grace of God!  I am alive and continue the battle because the gracious hands of the Lord have been sustaining me. His Everlasting Arms have been around me with His grace.  Thank the Lord, although the road to full recovery has been long and slow, there is continued progress which is by the grace of the Lord.  This scripture also reminds me once again that God is the Lord of grace. When we wait upon Him, He strengthens our hearts with His love and power. Thank the Lord for allowing me to have experienced His grace, His love and victory more than ever.  With the help of the Holy Spirit, I will continue to wait upon Him, pray to Him, meditate on His Word, sing praises in my heart to praise Him, and be drawn closer to Him.  Praise the Lord!
