He Is the Lord Who Works! He Gives Us Sleep!

Recently, building co-worker Pastor Harold Shull sent me a photo of the children’s activity center under construction, and I was very moved when I saw it! I remember the last time I went to the center at the end of May, I said to Pastor Shull, “I am diagnosed with stomach cancer and won’t be able to come to the center for a while. When you finish the work on the Dining Hall, will you please add a children’s activity center next to Mark Hall? The children’s coworkers have been waiting for two or three years.” Thanks to the Lord! He immediately said, “Although you didn’t give me the building plan, I’ll do it as you please.” And step by step, this activity center has come about. I truly have witnessed God’s blessings ofwisdom to our coworkers, leading them to accomplish God’s work. Thank the Lord for His work!

During my illness, even though I could not do anything but rest, I have seen the Lord’s hand at work continuously. My heart was filled with gratitude. I also realized how small I am, and how great God is. He is the God Almighty, the Lord who is at work! As long as we put all our work in the hands of the Lord, He will complete His work, and our spirit will be growing. Blessed are those who wait upon and look up to Him! When we enjoy the Lord’s work in peace, we will see the beauty of God!

Thanks be to the Lord! When I was unable to work, all our coworkers have been faithfully serving Him with one heart. Two camps held in August were well-arranged and completed in the grace of the Lord. Short-term missions in August and September were also completed successfully with the blessings from the Lord. None of the attendees got sick, and we have seen many souls healed and rebuilt. For this I thank the Lord wholeheartedly. There’s only one thing I could do, and that was to pray for all of the coworkers. I saw the eternal arms of the Lord sustained them. I give all the praises to Him!

I also thank the Lord! In the pandemic outbreak, the Lord called and sent Pastor Charles Huang and family to join us as the CWC’s coworkers. The Lord knew that we lack of manpower, and He raised up His worker Just as when the construction works were in need, the Lord moved people’s heart to care and to give for the need. Blessed are those who look up to the Lord in quietness.

As Solomon said, “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman keeps awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to retire late, to eat the bread of painful labors; for He gives to His beloved sleep.” (Psalm 127:1-2) Thank the Lord! In my sickness, the Lord has helped me to lay down all my cares, given me good sleep and enjoyed His presence.

Thanks to the Lord! In these past days, He allowed me to learn to look up to Him in quietness, to wait upon His great deeds, to praise His wonderful richness and omnipotence. As David said, “O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me. Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child {rests} against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me. O Israel, hope in the LORD from this time forth and forever.” (Psalm 131:1-3)

Next Tuesday (Oct. 6), I’m going to have my last chemotherapy. Thanks be to the Lord! Because of His almighty power, I truly experienced His grace upon me in the past seven rounds of chemotherapy. My energy level and physical strength progressed continuously. For this I can only thank God! An MRI will be taken in mid-October for the doctor to decide the date of operation. May the Lord continue to preserve my spirit and soul and body to face this big surgery.

Thanks to many churches for praying for me every week! I’m grateful for the care and prayer of all brothers and sisters. The Lord surely remembers your love. The Lord has been working, and is still working! Thank and praise our Lord!
