Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Peace to you in the Lord!

We thank God for giving us abundant grace and strength in the past one and half months. As I share with thanksgiving, I also ask you to please pray for us more.

May Discipleship Training Thanksgiving

May Discipleship and Coworker Training—Praise the Lord, nearly eighty brothers and sisters attended the training this time. Many are attending right after graduation and before starting to work. There are also ten-plus people who seized the opportunity before heading home in the summer to receive equipping, in hopes of serving the Lord with their vocation after returning to their home country.

Lay-Minister Coworker Training

Approximately 110 working brothers and sisters brought nearly 40 children to attend the training over Memorial Day weekend. Among them are many brothers and sisters from the east and west coasts. They were deeply moved by the messages they heard. They chose to aspire to noble tasks: to equip themselves and grow towards the goal of one day becoming church elders and deacons, so they may be more greatly used by the Lord. To reach this or a similar goal yourself, please start by taking a week off to attend the August Bible Camp or August Discipleship Training.

Praise the Lord, these brothers and sisters are willing to change their attitudes toward life and regard the Lord as more important than their jobs.

Youth Discipleship Training

Over seventy youths attended this year’s meeting. They looked forward to seeking the Lord together every year. They have lectures every morning, afternoon, and evening; they had rafting trip on Wednesday afternoon; and on Thursday afternoon and evening they went out for a missions trip: singing hymns, sharing, and witnessing for the Lord. Three speakers taught the youths to understand God’s church, to equip themselves, and to offer up themselves for the families of God.

Upcoming Events:

1. Holy Land Study Trip (6/20-7/1)
Praise the Lord there are 43 brothers and sisters attending the Holy Land Study Trip this time. We will be following the footsteps of the Lord Jesus, the prophets, and the apostles in Israel and Jordan, and we will learn lessons throughout. Please pray for each brother and sister on the trip to have a blessed journey and learn meaningful lessons.

2. August Bible Camp (7/31-8/6)
This time we will study the Pentateuch by Moses. This begins Bible Camp’s six-year cycle. More than 100 brothers and sisters have registered. Most brothers and sisters have started their assignments back in January. Pastor Chuang Shen Wang and Sister Grace Lee will be our speakers. Registration deadline passed on 6/15, but you can certainly pray for this camp.

3. August Discipleship and Coworker Training (8/7-13)
This is the most important training opportunity for equipping new coworkers in the new semester to serve on campuses. Although there will be new students arriving on campus, please encourage brothers and sisters to attend this training, in order to meet the need for long-term coworkers in each fellowship. For those brothers and sisters who cannot attend this meeting, please take on the extra burden of caring for new students over these few days, so the training attendees can focus on learning. Only by offering up sacrifices together can we tend equally to the present and future needs, and this is how campus ministry thrives.

Short-Tem Mission Teams in August and September

Currently the churches on east and west coasts are actively recruiting for short-term teams to come to the Midwest and partner with CWC to share the gospel with fall new students on campuses. To lead new students to the Lord at the beginning of a new semester is very important. If we wait until they’ve settled down, bought a car, established regular circle of friends, then it would be more difficult to share the gospel with them and lead them to the Lord. Please pray for each short-term mission team and their sending churches. If the campus where you are at needs short-term mission team to come and help take care of new students, please contact us.

“Little Shepherd Training Course” by Pastor Moses Yu

The founder of CWC, Pastor Moses Yu, designed a “Little Shepherd Training Course” to equip brothers and sisters to follow Christ and serve Him. This course recorded 500 hours of video messages by Pastor Yu. Topics include: Spiritual Growth, Discipleship Training, Biblical Teaching, Theological Education, Methods in Serving, Hermeneutics, How to Share God’s Word, and How to Preach. Pastor Yu’s teaching video files have partially been uploaded online to be used freely. You may view this online.

Thank you for your love and financial support to CWC in the Lord, and for often remembering our ministry and coworkers in your prayers. Your offering has encouraged coworkers to serve the Lord more fervently. May God continue to bless you and your family.

Serving together with you for the glory of the Lord,

Billy Ko (Pastor)
