2007-10 (October Prayer Letter)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings from the Christian Witness Center at Warsaw, Missouri! May the blessing of the Lord be with you and your family!

I. September Mission Team- Thank God for the wonderful mission to out reach the campuses in Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. It was a long journey to reach those campuses. The grace of God is sufficient for all of our need. Thank God for the safe trip. Thank God for leading many people into His Kingdom. Please continue to pray that the seeds of gospel may bear fruit from the hearts of those students.

II. Preparation for Future Winter Meetings– After the mission trips in August and September, we are working hard in preparation for the Winter Conference, December Discipleship Training Camp, and Bible Camp. The Bible Camp application form has already been posted on the web. Discipleship Training and Winter Conference forms will be posted soon. Please pray for those meetings and also mark them on your calendars and arrange to attend those meetings.

The strict due date is November 15. If you have not registered yet, please start to do so now. Most applicants began studying in early August. It is still not too late to apply now.

III. Coworkers Updates:

  1. Sister Cindy Chiang—She has had four busy months: two trainings in May, early June Youth Camp, Holy Land trip and a whole month of financial statement preparation for CPA auditing in July, two Trainings in August, two mission trips in each of August and September, and more. Cindy finally can go back to her “normal routine” life. Currently she is wrapping up left-over office work, preparing for all the winter meetings, and serving her regular weekend ministry. She especially asks you to pray for her teeth treatment. It is time-consuming, money-consuming, and painful. Please pray for a good dentist to fix all of the problems.
  2. Pastor Joel Li—After the Labor Day Summer Retreat, he can concentrate on ministry at two campuses, the University of Kansas and Kansas State University. This semester he will preach from the book of Hebrew on the preeminence of Christ. He asks that we join his prayer that the semester theme “To know Christ, To Make Him known” will be understood and practiced by the brothers and sisters there. He also is training individual brothers on preaching and teaching skills. He will use the Book of James to lead the Lawrence, KS, Family Group. He also asks you to pray for him, so that he can lead his family in learning the Bible and in honoring God.
  3. Sister Vivian Tsen—Beside the ministry in Iowa City, Sister Tsen has been busy all over Iowa state. Starting this semester, she has been asked to help more at Ames, IA. It is a three hour drive from Iowa City to Ames. Please pray for her busy schedule and her safe journey.
  4. Sister Ching Kuan—This semester there are more than 100 new students enrolled at the Columbia, MO campus. Her work load becomes heavier than before. She asked you to pray for the good memory and wisdom to minister to those new faces who came to the church. She also needs to lead the Mom’s group (New Life and New Living), Senior group (Gospel), Sunday School (Old Testament Survey). She thanks the Lord for the workers who can cowork with her on those ministries. She prays for more coworkers who can lead others to Christ or lead others to love the Lord more.
  5. Brother Dale Beyer—Joining us in September, Dale and his family settled in and are enjoying life at the Center. Dale and his wife have four kids, all home schooled. When we have meetings, they are very helpful with children’s ministry. Dale is a hard-working person. Please pray for their ministry here.
  6. Pastor Ko—I am busy traveling to many campuses. Please pray for the strength and wisdom for all different kind of ministries. If possible, please also pray for good weather on weekends, so that I can fly to different cities instead of driving for long hours. Please also pray for my administration and planning ministry. Your remembering of my health, spiritual growing and my entire family is much appreciated.

Thank you for your faithful prayers. See you soon in the Winter Meetings! God bless you.

In Him,

Billy Ko
