On April 19th, with my doctor’s consent, my wife, my second elder sister (Sister Meifung) and I flew to Las Vegas to visit our children for a week. While we were there, my wife’s sister and brother-in-law joined us and we had a great and happy family reunion. On April 21st, my second elder sister flew back to Hong Kong via L.A. because my first elder sister had been diagnosed with lung cancer. I thank the Lord for my second elder sister who moved in with us after the passing of my mother several years ago. During the time of my illness and treatment, she has been very helpful to my wife in taking care of me. And now that my body is recovering well, she decided go back to Hong Kong to look after our first elder sister. Praise the Lord that He truly is in control in all circumstances, and He has always done great things in His time.
I went to see my cancer surgeon on April 29. The doctor decided to remove the feeding tube because I have maintained my weight well by not losing more than 2 pounds since my last appointment. This truly is God’s grace! After the removing of feeding tube, my body feels much better, walking is also relatively light, I basically can return to normal life, and I am one step forward to full recovery. Thank the Lord, it’s all because you, my brothers and sisters, have kept
praying for me! Psalm 59: 16-17 says, ” But as for me, I shall sing of Your strength; Yes, I shall joyfully sing of Your lovingkindness in the morning, for You have been my stronghold and a refuge in the day of my distress. O my strength, I will sing praises to You; for God is my stronghold, the God who shows me lovingkindness.” Indeed, I have experienced God being my stronghold and a refuge in the days of my distress. When we abide in the Lord, He will watch over and lead us even in most difficult situation. Now that I have regained my strength and continue to fulfilled the ministry God has entrusted me, may the Lord help me to praise Him with a joyful heart and trust Him evermore for He is the God who blesses me!
