2020-01 (January Prayer Letter)

Dear brothers and sisters,

We wish you joy and blessings in the year of 2020! Another decade has passed. Time seems to go faster than ten years ago. May the Lord help us to know our direction and goals, that we will live more for His Kingdom! May we are more willingly dedicate ourselves for the Lord.

Live brilliantly, Die Gloriously

“And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them!” (Revelation 12:11-12)

Satan’s misdeeds will be more and more ferocious during the end time. Satan and his angels will aggressively attack God’s house to destroy God’s kingdom. They will fight against the King of Kings. Yet this one who is the “spiritual force of wickedness in the heavenly places” will be defeated. Satan and his angels will be thrown to the earth. Archangel Michael and his angels will win over the Satan, the deceiver of the whole world. Meanwhile, there is a group of people on earth who love the Lord and follow every step of the Lamb, Jesus. They are washed by the blood of the Lamb and also continuously witness for the blood of the Lamb. With the power of the blood of the Lamb, they fight against the power of darkness. They know God’s truth and have experienced the great power of God’s truth. They believe God’s truth, they are the witnesses of God’s truth, they use words to spread God’s truth, and they use the way they live to witness to God’s truth. On the path of witnessing for the Lamb, they willingly dedicate themselves for the truth, not loving their own lives, joyfully sacrificing themselves on the altar of the heavenly kingdom. For the victorious Lamb, they live brilliantly and die gloriously because they have done beautiful testimonies for the blood of the Lamb and God’s Truth, boldly proclaiming Christ’s victory that shatters Satan’s power. Churches need to raise more of these kind of witnesses to testify of the victory of the Lamb.

Rev. I-Feng Chiang, board member of the Christian Witness Center, was gloriously received by the Lord to his heavenly home on December 29, 2019. I preached in San Jose (CA) and visited him nine months ago. He welcomed me in. My heart sank when I saw his pale face. After he closed the door, with a smile on his face, he told me that he just arrived home from the hospital later the night before and I was his first guest after he returned home. Doctors told him that he was diagnosed with cancer. If he did not do chemotherapy, he would live about six months. If he went through chemo treatment, he could live for about a year. Then he told me, “Don’t pray for my healing because what I have been asking God is that He doesn’t let me live long. Rather, pray that God will let me live a challenged life and live beautifully and brilliantly for the Kingdom of God. That’s why I chose to serve in mainland China after I graduated from seminary. I knew the ministry was very challenging and I did not have many years left. But it was worth this cost.” This servant of God for the Lord’s sake did not love his life. In twenty plus years, he traveled from south to north in various provinces and cities in China, leaving beautiful Gospel footprints everywhere. He built up churches and edified workers for the Lord. He not only lived a challenging life for God’s kingdom, but also challenged the young college students to boldly follow Jesus and be disciples. After their graduation, they would be missionaries to plant and build up God’s churches. Praise the Lord! I have seen with my own eyes that many young people willingly accept this calling and challenge from God to be missionaries after graduation, planting and building up churches for the Lord. May God remember the sacrifices of his servant and also encourage more brothers, sisters, and ministers to live to witness of the Lord’s mighty power and the expansion of God’s kingdom, even to death, not loving their life.

Winter Conference—Missouri is at the center of the United States. Praise the Lord! Sixteen hundred brothers and sisters traveled from all directions to Kansas City, Missouri for the 2019 Winter Conference. Some drove and many flew. We gathered together to pursue God at one location. We also lead nonbelievers to become believers in the Lord. What a joy it is. Thanks be to God that about fifty people accepted Jesus as their Savior. These are the wonderful works of our Lord. Please pray for their spiritual growth and the follow-up ministry. We at first thought we would face many difficulties with the new location this year. Thank God! He gave us wisdom and unified spirit. The whole conference has displayed God’s wonderful works.

Disciple and Co-worker Training Camp—As soon as winter conference ended, dozens of brothers and sisters stayed behind in Kansas City. By God’s strength, they cleaned up the meeting areas, and packed up all the meeting equipments, toys, kitchen supplies and tools we brought to the Winter Conference. We loaded them on the CWC school bus leaving no empty space. It was like moving a big house. Besides the school bus, we also loaded a pickup truck, pulled two trailers fully packed, and left the hotel around dinner time. Simultaneously that night back at the Center, the first class started. Originally we planned that after that first class, the brothers and sisters could help unload everything from the school bus, truck, and trailers. But our truck broke down on half way. So we did not arrive at the CWC camp untill 3am. Many brothers and sisters who loaded their luggage on the school bus and trucks did not get their luggage back before they went to bed that nigh. All the passenger vehicles were fully loaded too. We planned to bring back the brothers and sisters to the camp in time for the class. But they did not complain. What’s more? One main water line broke on the first days during the camp. We only had limited water supply which caused inconvenience. Praise God! All the difficulties did not affect the hearts of brothers and sisters to pursue the Lord! Everyone with joyful heart to pursued God with one accord. I was greatly touched when I saw over two hundred adults brothers and sisters plus about forty children pursuing God this way and being transformed by the Lord. I believe that God will use them in their local churches.

Bible Camp—After the Winter Conference and then Discipleship Training, over one hundred brothers and sisters continued to learn in the third camp with enthusiasm. Many are students, yet about half of the attendees have fulltime jobs and took off a week from work to attend the Bible Camp. They have paid a big price because they felt that here is God’s Word. They not only could study God’s Word, but also become equipped as speakers of God’s Word to lead Bible studies and share God’s Word. The Lord used David Su and Mrs. Lois Su’s teaching to rekindle the hearts of brothers and sisters to love God and God’s Words. As a result, many brothers and sisters have signed up to attend August Bible Camp to study the books of Wisdom.

Gospel Camp—The Gospel Camp will be held from March 6 to 9. Speakers are Tsu-Kung Chuang and George Hsu. Please pray for the camp. May the Lord win more souls over spring break. Many people mistakenly think Gospel Camp is only for nonbelievers, and so believers do not need to come. But if Christians do not come, how can the nonbelievers come? Christians need to commit to come first, then they will have the opportunity to invite the nonbelievers to attend. We have special revival messages to edify believers. Apply early, and pray for the Gospel Camp. May we by faith and love promptly invite others to attend.

March East Coast Discipleship Training Camp—It will be held in Raleigh, NC in two periods. First period is March 11-14 and second period is March 13-16. Sister Grace Lee is our speaker. Please apply soon and click here for details. Presently the East Coast Camp can host about sixty people. We are planning to expand it to hold a hundred people. Please pray for this. If you want to financially support this ministry, please mark your check for East Coast Camp.
